General Settings:

Select Source video - select the video to create HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) files for.
Create HLS Streaming files/Stop HLS Processing - start creating HLS streaming files or stop the current HLS processing.
Defaults - reverts to initial defaults.
Clear Output Directory - clears all HLS files from the current output directory.
Command-line Tools - goes to the command-line tools directory and displays information on using the command-line tools. Use these tools if you want to script processing from the command-line or integrate functionality into your own application.

Source Video - the source video file to create HLS files for. Notes: the '...' button does the same as the toolbar 'Select Source Video'. The 'View' button is used to view the source video using VLC.
Output Directory - the output directory to create HLS files in. e.g. from above '....\HLS_Output, which is the default output directory. Notes: the '...' button is used to select the output directory.
Output Name - the output name to use when creating files in the output directory. e.g. from above: 'file', which is the default name, creates file.m3u8, file-1.ts, file-2.ts etc... file-N.ts in output directory.
Server URL - this is the base url for the server the HLS files will be server from. e.g. above is http://www.streamtunes.tv but is the server address where the HLS files will be served from.

After creating HLS files, show output directory - once all the HLS files are created, the output directory is shown.

Show Output Folder - manually shows the output directory.

Test - once processing has completed and all the HLS output files are created, you can test your HLS video by clicking this button. HLS Segmenter has a built-in web server which is used to serve up your video files. Note: to do this all the created HLS files are copied to the HLS Segmenter web server jetty/docroot/HLS_Output directory and VLC is lauched to view the HLS video.
Publish - once processing has completed and all the HLS output files are created, you can publish all the HLS output files to an FTP server. Once the files are published, VLC is launched to check out your published files. Note: before publishing you are prompted for th FTP server information which is saved for future use.

Bottom status area - displays informative messages. When HLS files are being created, this area shows the start and ending times for the process.
